Engineering Randomness
In 2012 I co-founded Lunch Roulette. For 8 years we provided a super simple web-based service for randomly introducing people within large organizations. We facilitated tens-of-thousands of interactions across the globe for companies in (including, but not limited to) : healthcare, financial services, technology, pharmaceuticals, and consumer products.
We were not the first providers of such a service, and we are not the last.
Tools like Lunch Roulette help us try to engineer the randomness of human interaction, in the hope of enriching for serendipitous outcomes.
