Week eight

The doldrums definitely set in this week. I was in a significant amount of discomfort, and just walking about and getting in and out of chairs was a pain … I stayed out of the gym, took it easy, and tried to let my body just recover from whatever it was.

Midweek my spirits shifted, and I found the following NYT article on late marathon finishers to be heartwarming (and encouraging, as I think London is adopting it too … ) and then, by Thursday, I was able to sneak in a 30 minute run, and then Friday morning a 5+ mile run. I felt fine coming off of that and, while it’s a departure from the training schedule I’d set, it’s still non-zero, which feels like a real win given how I felt, and I’ve still plenty of time …

I ran for a total of 8.44 miles this week.
