A non-profit organization focusing on gender equality, wanted to do something to address the gender inequality present across the boards of Fortune 500 organizations.
They created a “pledge,” and sought to develop an associated scale. The pledge would be taken by organizations to look good and the scale would help them assess their organization’s “gender parity” and provide an objective measure for accountability.
How though do you assess gender parity? It isn’t as simple as a basic ratio of men to women, and requires a multidimensional systemic view of gender in an organization. We helped this organization determine a robust and sensitive metric for rigorously assessing gender parity.
Our foundational work contributed to the development of the Parity.Org ParityINDEX® which is currently being used across global Fortune 500 organizations.
