Week One

This time last week I’d just accepted a spot to run, so this marks the first proper week of training. I’m following the New York Times (NYT) Marathon Training plan, which you can find here. It consists of two thirty minute runs during the week (Tuesday and Thursday), with a longer run on Sunday. The rest of the days are cross training, while Saturday is a rest day.

I typically run two courses during any given week, I’m going to call them Flat and Up. These names are pretty descriptive, and both are just a smidge over 3 miles. I typically run between 5 and 6 miles on any given Sunday. I ran 6 today (57:59, 12 C, 87% humidity), which is about Week 2 of the NYT plan linked to above. Next week should be 7 miles. I’m traveling this week for work, so that means my weekday runs will likely both be treadmill affairs.

I ran for a total of 15.63 miles this week.
